All is now set for the National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC-Liberia) to commence its annual inspection of the headquarters of all 49 registered political parties across Liberia. According to a release, NEC disclosed that beginning today Wednesday, 26 August 2026, the Board of Commissioners (BoC) of the Commission will lead teams of election workers to conduct inspection exercises at the headquarters of several political parties in and around Monrovia.

The inspection exercise according to the release, will continue through Monday, 31 August 2026, ahead of the NEC’s 1 September 2026 deadline, in accordance with the New Elections Law and the Regulations and Procedures for Political Parties, Coalitions, Alliances, and Independent Candidates.

NEC noted that the exercise is intended to verify the status, existence, and presence of registered political parties and assess their compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. According to NEC, political parties found to be non-compliant will be required to take corrective measures to comply with the relevant laws and regulations. Where applicable, appropriate action, including delisting, may be taken in accordance with the law.

Ahead of the inspection, on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the NEC Political Affairs Section held a briefing session with members of the inspection teams, urging them to remain alert, professional, impartial, and transparent throughout the inspection process.
