The Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Brussels is pleased to highlight Liberia’s participation, through H.E. Ambassador J. Levi Demmah, in consultations with the Group of African Ambassadors in Brussels on October 27, 2026.

The Permanent Mission of the African Union to the European Union convened the consultations ahead of the African Union–European Union Partnership Joint Senior Officials Meeting, scheduled for November 4, 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The AU delegation included the Chairperson of the Committee of Permanent Representatives, the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Multilateral Cooperation, and African Union Commission officials.

Liberia’s participation matters because preparatory discussions allow African missions to coordinate and contribute to the issues that will shape the upcoming AU–EU dialogue.

Through engagement with fellow African representatives, Liberia can help strengthen a shared continental approach while ensuring its perspectives are part of discussions on areas of common interest within the partnership. The meeting also reflects the importance of sustained coordination between African missions in Brussels and the African Union Commission as preparations advance.

Stronger coordination can support clearer priorities, more consistent engagement with European partners, and a more effective partnership between the African Union and the European Union. The November 4 meeting in Addis Ababa will provide the next platform for senior officials to advance these discussions.

Liberia remains committed to constructive diplomatic engagement that promotes cooperation and supports the interests of its people and the African continent.
