The Office of the Ombudsman, through its Executive Director, Cllr Findley Karnga, reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing Liberia’s Code of Conduct on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, calling on students and citizens to uphold ethical behavior in schools, communities, and public institutions. Cllr. Karnga, during a one-day engagement, said that his Ombudsman office is committed to strengthening ethical governance in Liberia, emphasizing that meaningful national change begins with ordinary citizens doing “the little things” right.

The program, attended by government officials, partners, and school representatives, saw the leadership of the Ombudsman thank stakeholders for their support, highlighting the tireless efforts of staff that ensured the event’s success.

Partners from the Financial Intelligence Agency, the Governance Commission, African Global Logistics, and several other institutions were applauded for their moral and financial backing in promoting integrity nationwide. In a passionate message to students, the Ombudsman Executive Director stressed the importance of personal responsibility, discipline, and respect for rules and values.

He urged students to become active participants in improving their learning environment rather than relying solely on school administrators. “We must take action. You cannot do big things if you are unable to do the little things,” warning students against paying or accepting bribes and urging them to reject corrupt offers from teachers or community members,” Karnga urged students.

He also underscored that the fight for accountability extends beyond government, calling on families to insist that public officials account for funds allocated to them and return unused resources.
