Grand Gedeh County Senator, Zoe E. Pennue says perception from individuals that citizens of the county are reserved voters for a particular political party, is false. Addressing legislative reporter on Thursday, October 23, 2025, Senator Pennue said some political parties the people gave their votes during elections are thinking that those people are reserved voters for them.
He said it is the constitutional right of the people to associate and disassociate with any political party.The Grand Gedeh County Senator said those who are making threatening statements that he will not be re-elected in 2029 because of his commendation to the Boakai Administration for road development in Grand Gedeh, is pathetic and can never deterred him.
“I achieved enough in my life so nobody will threaten my life in the first place because nobody from any political party brought me here.” Senator Pennue frowned. Pennue further indicated that has 19 years of experience and understands both legislative and executive politics; adding that he is a veteran politician not a juvenile and will advocate and defend his people at the Liberian Senate.
Meanwhile, Grand Gedeh County Senator commended the government for the good work that has been done on the roads from Tappita to Zwedru. He added that during those days in raining season, the roads were very bad. He admitted that the people of Grand Gedeh County are benefiting from the Unity Party (UP) government because today gasoline price has reduced from L$2,500 to L$750 or L$800. He also disclosed that rice price is low because road condition has improved.
“Our brothers and sisters that are residing in the United States of American want to come back home but it was because bad roads that’s why they were not coming back home to build their one or two bedroom houses,” he said. He added that with their roads in good condition, brothers and sisters in America can now come back home and start developing their county.
