Former Liberian President George Manneh Weah visited the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) headquarters, currently under construction in Congo Town, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. During his inspection, the former Liberian leader expressed confidence to party supporters, assuring them of a victory in the 2029 elections.
He also commended the dedication of the workers at the site and acknowledged the CDC diaspora for their contribution of $3,000 toward the project. At the site, supporters present were seen celebrating enthusiastically, dancing and giving thanks, inspired by Weah’s commitment to building a new headquarters for their party.
Following a court-ordered demolition of the CDC headquarters on August 23, 2025, Weah pledged to rebuild a new, modern, state-of-the-art party headquarters in “record time.” A groundbreaking ceremony for the new project in Congo Town was held on October 18, 2025, with construction progressing rapidly under a dedicated committee.
