Liberia Media and Marketing Services Incorporated, the publisher of The NEWS Newspaper, is celebrating 36 years of professional media services in Liberia. We are committed to providing timely, accurate, and analytical news that educates the population and promotes national peace and democracy.
Established on April 24, 1989, by Professor Wilson K. Tarpeh, our goal was to be “a voice for the voiceless.” Over the years, we have faced numerous challenges under various Liberian government administrations. There have been instances where our reporters, editors, and correspondents were harassed, beaten, or arrested as part of their duties. Despite these hardships, we have remained steadfast in our mission to protect the public’s interests and represent ordinary citizens.
As the NEWS enters its 36th year, management, under the leadership of Pah Chea Youlo, Administrator, and J. Molly Scott, Acting Editor-in-Chief, reaffirms our commitment to being a voice for the voiceless, emphasizing nationalism and social responsibility.
We will continue to function as a reliable source of information, delivering accurate, balanced, and credible news. In situations of confusion or controversy, we will not hesitate to provide evidence-based interpretations for public education.
In all our efforts, we pledge to uphold the public’s trust, promote democracy, and contribute to the stability of the state through our reporting. We extend special thanks and appreciation to our dedicated management and staff, including administrators, editors, and reporters, for their selfless service over the years and their ongoing commitment to the future prosperity of our publication.
Most importantly, we remain the “voice for the voiceless.” Happy 36th Anniversary to The NEWS Newspaper—“the Nation’s News Since 1989.”
