The Liberia Football Association (LFA), through its Technical Department and with support from FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS), is set to launch a structured Talent Identification Pilot Project targeting Under-12 boys and girls across the country.

The initiative represents a significant step in the LFA’s efforts to strengthen grassroots football development and create a more effective pathway for identifying and nurturing young football talents throughout Liberia.

According to the LFA, the FIFA-funded project is designed to enhance player identification, assessment, monitoring, and long-term development, ensuring that promising young footballers are discovered early and provided with opportunities to maximize their potential.

The pilot project forms part of the Association’s broader National Talent Identification Strategy, an ambitious framework aimed at establishing a sustainable, organized, and standardized scouting system capable of identifying talented players from every region of the country.

By creating a structured approach to talent discovery, the LFA hopes to build a stronger foundation for youth football development while ensuring that gifted players, regardless of their geographical location, are given equal opportunities to be seen and developed.

The project will involve a series of organized scouting exercises, regional assessment events, technical evaluations, and comprehensive player data collection processes.

These activities will enable coaches and technical experts to closely monitor the progress of identified players and create development plans tailored to their needs.
