Martins and Mercedes became the first casualties of Big Brother Naija Season 11, exiting the competition during the season’s first double eviction after receiving the lowest number of votes from viewers across the continent. Their departures have immediately raised the stakes inside Biggie’s House, where every relationship, challenge and rule violation could now determine who stays and who goes.
Speaking with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu after his eviction, Martins remained optimistic about life beyond the House, telling fans that he intends to surprise the world with projects he has in the pipeline.
Mercedes, meanwhile, described her early exit as an experience rather than a defeat. “I gave the experience everything I had and I’m proud of my time in the House,” she said during her exit interview.
Also, Mercedes disclosed plans to take her performance career to international stages while expanding her massage and concierge businesses. She also said she intends to prioritize raising funds for her father’s upcoming surgery. As Martins and Mercedes made their exit, Chimsom Chuka emerged as one of the biggest winners of the week after clinching the season’s first Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) title.
The victory earned Chuka the betPawa Elite Award and, more importantly, immunity from the next eviction round, giving him a major advantage as other housemates fight to remain in the competition.
But the celebrations were accompanied by a stern warning from Big Brother. Just before the live eviction show, Biggie summoned the housemates over repeated rule violations involving Nomy, issuing her a formal strike and final warning.
The punishment sent a clear message: with the competition intensifying, housemates will have to balance aggressive gameplay with strict adherence to Biggie’s rules. Moreover, beyond fame and bragging rights, the contestants are battling for the biggest prize package in the history of the show, reportedly valued at ₦160 million.
The grand prize includes ₦100 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and additional premium prizes from sponsors. Under Big Brother’s new Cash Pot Penalty rule, failure to complete weekly house tasks could result in ₦5 million being deducted from the grand cash pot.
The deducted money will reportedly accumulate in a separate pool and later be distributed to housemates voted as the Most Influential contestants during the season. The twist means every task now carries consequences far beyond the immediate competition.
