On Saturday, May 9, 2026, via the Robert International Airport, President Joseph N. Boakai departed Liberia for Nairobi, Kenya, where he is participating in the high-level Africa Forward 2026 Summit-a major diplomatic gathering expected to reshape relations between Africa and France.
The two-day summit, hosted by the Government of Kenya and sponsored by France, brings together key African and European leaders to discuss pressing geopolitical and economic priorities across the continent.
During the summit, President Boakai will engage alongside President William Ruto of Kenya, President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, and President Emmanuel Macron of France in strategic talks centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding youth employment opportunities, and promoting peace and stability across Africa.
The gathering is being viewed as a significant geopolitical move aimed at redefining France’s role and influence on the African continent while deepening diplomatic and economic partnerships between African nations and Europe.
