The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), with support from partners, has commenced a two-day validation workshop on the National Action Plan (NAP) Review Report for the Prevention and Management of Gender-Based Violence (Phase III: 2018–2023). According to a release, the workshop runs from Monday, November 10, to Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The workshop, held at the Gender Ministry in Congo Town, brings together key stakeholders from government institutions, development partners, and civil society organizations to review and validate the NAP Review Report with technical and financial support from UNFPA.
Outlining the purpose of the workshop, Deputy Minister for Gender, Laura Golakeh, emphasized that the validation exercise seeks to ensure the National Action Plan remains relevant, evidence-based, and responsive in advancing gender equality, promoting women’s empowerment, and safeguarding vulnerable populations across Liberia. According to Deputy Minister Golakeh, the outcomes of the workshop will inform the design and implementation of the next phase of Liberia’s GBV response framework, strengthening national efforts to prevent and address gender-based violence in all its forms.
