The Annual Diaspora Conference is expected to get underway today in Washington DC, United States of America. The three-day gathering, from September 26–28, 2025, will bring together Liberians from across the globe, government officials, and international partners to discuss development priorities, investment opportunities, and the role of the diaspora in rebuilding Liberia.

According to the Office of the President, the conference will also provide a platform for diaspora Liberians to contribute ideas and resources toward economic growth, good governance, and sustainable development.  During the gathering, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai will deliver the keynote address, highlighting his administration’s agenda for inclusive governance and partnership with Liberians abroad.

The Liberia Diaspora Annual Conference has served as a crucial forum to strengthen ties between the government and its citizens abroad, while mobilizing support for programs back home. This year’s edition is anticipated to focus on investment in infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and youth empowerment, with breakout sessions dedicated to policy discussions and collaborative strategies.
