DStv is set to reshape the pay-tv experience in Liberia from November 5, introducing revamped subscription packages starting at US$7 per month as the company moves to make entertainment more accessible while expanding its sports and movie offerings.

The sweeping changes, announced by MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, represent one of DStv’s most significant product updates in years, promising subscribers clearer package options, expanded channel selections and greater access to African and international entertainment.

Under the new lineup, DStv Access will become DStv Starter at US$7 monthly, while DStv Family will be rebranded DStv Select at US$13. DStv Compact will become DStv Sports at US$24, while Compact Plus and Premium will be consolidated into DStv Ultimate at US$37 per month.

The company says the restructuring is designed to reflect changing viewing habits and give customers more choices based on their entertainment interests and budgets.

For subscribers seeking affordable entertainment, the new DStv Starter package will offer additional channels, including SuperSport KICKOFF, Premier League Match of the Week, La Liga, M-Net Legends and Star Life.

However, the DStv Select package will target households seeking a broader entertainment experience, offering movie channels, including M-Net Movies+, African and international series, Novelas+, Telemundo, Serie A, Betway PSL and children’s programming such as Nickelodeon. Also, MultiChoice is refreshing its movie lineup with M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends, promising more blockbuster films, faster access to new releases and fewer repeats.

Moreover, sports fans are expected to benefit from the restructuring, with DStv Sports positioned as the company’s first package specifically designed for sports enthusiasts. At US$24 per month, the package will include every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, alongside cricket, selected international club rugby, WWE and UFC; addingnthat subscribers will also retain access to the general entertainment channels available on DStv Select.

For customers seeking a more comprehensive viewing experience, DStv Ultimate will combine the offerings of DStv Sports with additional premium sporting events, including Formula 1, MotoGP, ATP Tennis and PGA Golf majors, as well as flagship M-Net entertainment.

The package lineup follows CANAL+’s acquisition of MultiChoice, which the company says creates opportunities to draw on a wider international network, stronger content relationships and decades of experience operating across Africa.

Despite the integration, MultiChoice says African storytelling will remain central to its strategy, with continued investment in local productions across its markets. In Liberia, viewers can expect more West African stories, Nollywood blockbusters and regional productions over the coming months, according to the company.

Nomsa Philiso, Executive Vice President of Content at CANAL+ Africa, said MultiChoice had established a strong connection with African audiences through its understanding of the stories they enjoy. She said CANAL+ shared that commitment and was investing in African storytelling through increased production and opportunities to distribute local content to global audiences.

Beyond the new packages, DStv will introduce a special hardware promotion in Liberia, allowing customers to purchase selected decoders and hardware bundles at promotional prices. The company said the promotion is intended to reduce the cost of connecting to its services and enable more households to access its expanded range of local and international programming.

Subscribers seeking information about the new packages, migration arrangements and decoder promotions can visit www.dstv.com or contact customer support on 0886 510 000 or 0777 510 753. Customers can also visit Consolidated Group Incorporated in Monrovia for assistance.

The changes mark a major repositioning of DStv’s subscription offerings in Liberia, with the company betting that a wider selection of entertainment and sports options will strengthen its appeal to households across the country.
