President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has praised Grand Bassa Superintendent Karyou Johnson for the level of development taking place across the county, saying the progress made him proud. Speaking during the dedication of several development projects ahead of Liberia’s 179th Independence Day celebrations, President Boakai said he was impressed by the visible improvements made under Johnson’s leadership. “You made me proud,” the President told the Superintendent as he praised the county’s progress and the teamwork that made the projects possible.

Among the projects dedicated were the renovated Superintendent’s Compound with two presidential villas, the Own-Your-Own Public School, doctors’ quarters, an administrative building, the Buchanan electrification project, the Emmanuel Nuku Reeves Mini Park, health centres, markets, schools, a football field, and the Gbah Bridge in District 2.

The projects were completed using County Development Funds and Social Development Funds through the leadership of Superintendent Karyou Johnson, working with his deputies and the Grand Bassa Legislative Caucus. President Boakai said the new infrastructure is improving the lives of residents and helping restore Grand Bassa’s position as one of Liberia’s leading counties.
