Senator Samuel Kogar of Nimba County has revealed that Vice President Jeremiah K. Koung is disrespecting him as the elected senator of the county.  Kogar claims he was prevented from supporting a candidate during the recent by-election for the Representative seat in District #5.

In an interview with BKS TV online, Senator Kogar stated that Koung treats him like an outsider, which he refuses to accept, emphasizing that he was elected by the people of Nimba, not by the Vice President or the President. “I have already lodged a complaint about him with President Joseph N. Boakai, and I am waiting for a response. I do not care about anyone’s feelings. I am not against the Vice President, but he has refused to step back from interfering in Nimba County’s matters,” Senator Kogar said.

He further noted that even the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR), the party founded by the late Prince Y. Johnson, has regarded him as an outsider because Vice President Koung listens to those who claim Kogar will challenge him for the vice presidency in 2029.

Senator Kogar asserted that Vice President Koung is unwilling to collaborate with him, despite the need for them to work together to elevate Nimba County’s influence in national elections. “We must resist being divided by political tactics. Before MDR can move forward, we must first resolve our internal challenges through democratic processes and unity,” he concluded.
