The Movement for Progressive Change (MPC), led by Simeon Freeman, has issued a strong ultimatum to the Unity Party government, demanding the immediate resignation of high-ranking officials who have blatantly violated the National Code of Conduct.
In a statement released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the MPC stated that it will not tolerate a “blind eye” approach from this administration and called for action against officials accused of undermining public trust.
“The Unity Party government has a choice: uphold the rule of law, demand the resignation of corrupt officials, and address the economic and social crises facing our people, or confront the rising tide of national consciousness,” the MPC declared.
Michael CT Marshall, Head of Media and Public Relations, indicated that certain officials are damaging public trust and the integrity of the government. He stressed that adherence to the National Code of Conduct is vital for fostering transparency and accountability in Liberia’s governance.
Marshall highlighted specific violations, such as nepotism, misuse of public resources, and a lack of accountability in financial dealings. He noted that these actions not only tarnish the reputation of the Unity Party but also impede the progress and development that citizens urgently need.
The MPC called on citizens to unite in demanding higher standards from their leaders, insisting that the government must prioritize the welfare of the people over personal interests. He urged the Unity Party to take immediate action by holding these officials accountable and ensuring they resign if they cannot uphold the expected values.
“The time for talk is over; we need action. The people of Liberia deserve a government committed to integrity and service. We will not stand by while our leaders disregard the very principles they swore to uphold,” Marshall asserted.
