The Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) has successfully concluded its historic and landmark visit to the Republic of Liberia. It was a defining moment marking over 50 years of existence and service to Liberians in the diaspora and at home.

With a robust delegation of around 47 members, ULAA, under the dynamic leadership of President, Mr. Mohammed Keita, Vice President, Mrs. Emmanuette Nagbe, and Secretary General, Mr. Borbi Blopleh, visited Liberia from April 25 to April 27, 2025.

This visit culminated in the long-awaited groundbreaking of the ULAA Resource Center in White Plains Township, Montserrado County, a strategic and visionary investment designed to establish ULAA’s physical presence in Liberia and serve as a hub for diaspora-driven development, innovation, advocacy, and engagement.

In a release sent to this paper, ULAA extended its deepest gratitude to His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, for warmly receiving the delegation and his inspiring words of encouragement.

“The President’s firm belief in the role of the diaspora in national development reaffirms the value of unity, partnership, and patriotism. ULAA commends President Boakai for welcoming Liberians back home to be part of rebuilding and shaping the country’s future,” the release stated.

The ULAA release also acknowledged its Delegation for taking the time off to make the groundbreaking ceremony a huge success, as well as the guest speaker of the occasion, Dr. Thomas Tweh, who left everything and traveled to support this worthy cause.

“Indeed, you are true Patriots. Our hats are off to you. Thank you,” the release said.  During their time in Liberia, from the April 25 Meet and Greet to the April 26 Fundraising Event at the Ministerial Complex and the April 27 Groundbreaking, distribution of rice to more than 150 residence, and Cookout, the ULAA noted that Liberians presence, enthusiasm, and participation reinforced its mission- to bridge the gap between the diaspora and the homeland and to promote meaningful development through collective responsibility and engagement.

“As we return to the Americas, ULAA remains more energized and committed than ever to its mission of fighting for Liberians’ rights, dignity, and advancement at home and abroad. The journey to establish the Resource Center has only just begun, and the future holds far greater promise when we walk together,” ULAA President Mohammed Keita is quoted in the release as saying.
