The Student Unification Party (SUP) of the University of Liberia has refused to comply with the institution’s ban on student politics. Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia recently, SUP Chairman, Sylvester Wheeler denounced the University’s decision, stating that it goes against the law.
Wheeler noted that the defiance is a demonstration of the party’s commitment to upholding the rights and interests of the students. According to him, Student politics has long been a vital aspect of the country’s development, with SUP being the moral voice for voiceless students.
He emphasized SUP’s unwavering stance against the ban on student politics at the University of Liberia. The decision to ban student politics by the University of Liberia administration has caused widespread outrage among students. Many see it as an attack on their fundamental rights to freedom of expression and assembly.
