Several heads of sector agencies have been invited to appear before the Committee of the Whole of the Liberian Senate on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1 P.M.
According to a Senate release, the Ministers of Finance and Development Planning, Health, Education, Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority, as well as the head of the Civil Servant Agency are to appear to update the Plenary on their respective operations.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, will appear to give information relating to the employment of volunteer teachers, fees paid to public schools as well as other matters in her sector.
Minister of Health Dr. Louise Kpoto’s appearance before the Committee is also related to the employment of volunteer health workers, fees paid to public health facilities as other matters in the health sector.
The release said as for the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, he will appear to address issues relating to the state of the economy raised by a member of the Liberia Senate, Grande Gedeh County Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue.
Senator Pennue alarmed that since the appointment of Finance and Development Planning Minister, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, there has been constant delay in the payment of Civil Servant Salaries.
