Several senior officials from the Government of Liberia (GoL), representing various ministries and agencies, have received certificates in modern technology. The certification ceremony, held on April 24, 2025, followed a three-day intensive training organized by SOMAPA IT, an Asia-based company.
During the training, participants learned about eBorder monitoring, decision-making, coordination, and operational response across different institutions in Liberia. They were also educated on risk management for security agencies and the immigration formalities associated with passengers, which included analyzing personal information, travel history, behavior patterns, and other data sources.
The training aimed to provide participants with a broader understanding of external data interfaces, passenger name record systems, and permit registration, among other topics. The courses took place at a local hotel in Monrovia from April 22 to 24. The final day of training was characterized by interactions between facilitators and participants, with practical exercises to reinforce what had been taught.
Madam Antonette Johnson, one of the participants who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, praised SOMAPA IT for offering such essential training to government officials and promised to implement what they had learned in their respective areas of responsibility.
For his part, Atty. A. Kundukai Jaleiba, Deputy Commissioner General for Operations at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), who represented LIS Director Elijah Rufus, commended SOMAPA IT for its support to the Government of Liberia through modern technology training. He emphasized that the Government of Liberia is committed to progressing in line with best practices.
Additionally, Edrick Noah, Assistant Minister for Administration and Public Safety at the Ministry of Justice, expressed the government’s willingness to collaborate with SOMAPA IT. He encouraged his colleagues to act as ambassadors for SOMAPA IT in Liberia.
