Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe E. Pennue has applauded the government of President Joseph N. Boakai for the work done on the road from Ganta in Nimba County to Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

Senator Pennue made the statement upon return for second quarter of the Liberian Senate after their first quarter break.

Senator Pennue said the people of his county can now drive on road from Ganta-Zwedru for less than seven hours and it shows that government is doing well on roads construction across country.

“I never believed that information first; so I send money to someone in county and told him to come in Monrovia and it was confirmed because he came in Monrovia within less than seven hours,” Senator Pennue said.

According to him, students, pregnant women, market women and sick people have been suffering due to the bad road condition from Ganta-Zwedru. But now marketers within the county can now go to Ganta and buy their goods and return to county the same day.

“My people have suffered a lot due to bad road and now that progress has been made on the road from Ganta-Zwedru, we need to inform the public and it’s has nothing to do with politics or political parties,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Senator Pennue disclosed that Grand Gedeh County has benefited from huge consignment of medicines and other health materials from national government.

He said in past the six years, patients in the county were buying their own medications and materials before treatment they can be treated.
