“Reckless Management, Chaos”… Boakai Tells Supporters Of CDC’s Leadership Style

President-Joseph-Nyuma-Boakai-says-Liberians-rejected-the-Coalition-for-Democratic-Change-(CDC)-because-of-chaos

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai says Liberians rejected the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) because of chaos, incompetence and reckless management of the country. Speaking on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Unity Party (UP) homecoming and fundraising rally, President Boakai said Liberians opted for a government that would stand for integrity, credibility, and national dignity.

He explained that under the UP leadership, respect and reverence for Liberia is rapidly rising again and passports have earned greater weight and Liberians abroad now move with confidence, not embarrassment. He told supporters and sympathizers that Liberia has just been re-elected to Category A of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council for the 2026–2027 period, placing the country at the center of global maritime policymaking. “And next month, Liberia will be officially inaugurated as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, where global conflicts are debated and resolutions are crafted”.

According to him, Liberia now sits with dignity among nations, contributing to decisions that affect global peace, stability, and development. The President further indicated that UP is also driving economic renewal at home and vigorously pursuing job creation, foreign investors are returning, and confidence in governance is rising; noting that market prices are gradually stabilizing and roads are opening across the country.

President Boakai added that travel is easier and Liberians no longer have to cross through another country just to reach the Southeast, stressing that dignity has been restored. “But fellow partisans, I enjoin you to beware that transformation is not an event, and a single battle, victory does not amount to wining a war. We must sustain the fight with discipline, loyalty, unity, and sacrifice if we are to achieve lasting progress and transformation in the lives of our people and let us recommit ourselves to this Party, not only in words but in actions,” he said.

Commenting on Party’s return to its headquarters, Boakai recalled in November 2021 that UP reluctantly left the very compound and doors they once entered with confidence were abruptly closed behind them and it was painful, unexpected, and embarrassing.  He said many believed their departure signaled a downturn that would mark the end of their story and people counted them out and they were certain UP would never return but it must have become clear to them that they underestimated the resolve of Unity Party.

“They did not understand that no one can eliminate conviction. You cannot silence purpose. You cannot destroy a movement sustained by the will of its members enveloped in the grace of God. Our experience reflects a timeless biblical truth: “The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. That, Fellow Partisans is the Unity Party,” Boakai noted amid applause.

As he spoke, these were some of his words: “This moment is not accidental. It is earned. It is product of sacrifice, steadfastness, and the belief that no impediment is final unless we accept it. We have always been a fighting party. Even when the blows come early, we remain standing in the final rounds. We took the hits, we reorganized, and we returned, not with anger, but with a stronger commitment to our mission and a clearer sense of purpose. And today is proof that “UNITY,” as etched in our noble name, remains our greatest strength,” Boakai stressed.

He acknowledges partisans who stayed committed during their most challenging period when   the door may have almost closed on them. Boakai extended appreciation to all opposition and independent lawmakers that attended the homecoming and fundraising event. He observed that presence reflects a genuine commitment to national unity, harmony and a shared desire for a stronger and more prosperous Liberia.

Meanwhile, the ruling party raised US$1.3 million from the first round of its nationwide fundraising rally. For her part, Cornelia Kruah said the contributions were received through Lonestar and Orange mobile money platforms, cheques, and direct cash payments. She disclosed the ongoing fundraising rally will continue as part of efforts to mobilize resources, strengthen party structures, and support future political engagements. Madam Kruah said Lofa County got the highest followed by Bong, Nimba, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, River Cess, and Sinoe.
