The Liberia National Police (LNP) has deployed six additional officers to South Sudan on UN peacekeeping mission. The send-off ceremony was held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police in Monrovia.

The officers include; Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lewis Kamayee Chede, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Francis T. Tarwin, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bangaly Abrahim Saysay, Inspector of Police (Insp) Mercy Siah Tamba, Inspector of Police (Insp) Jesse Lavoisier Towouh and Corporal of Police (Clp) Catherine Conmontonn Gbezial.

Police Inspector General, Gregory O. W. Coleman emphasized the importance of the Peacekeeping Mission, urging the officers to uphold the ethics, values and principles of the LNP and be more community policing-oriented.

Coleman also charged the officers to serve with due diligence in the discharge of their duties as their actions represent the image of law enforcement of Liberia in South Sudan. The latest deployment brings to ten the number of LNP Officers deployed in South Sudan on peacekeeping mission, signifying LNP’s commitment to global peace and stability.
