The Liberia National Police has dispatched the first batch of 30 officers to Kigali, Rwanda for specialized training. The training of police officers is in line with a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Liberia National Police (LNP), represented by Inspector General, Gregory O. W. Coleman, and Inspector General, Felix Namuhoranye of the Rwanda National Police.

According to a release posted on the official Facebook Page of LNP, the officers will undergo specialized training at the Rwanda National Police Academy, focusing on strengthening capacity, professionalism, and operational effectiveness. The LNP says it remains committed to building a strong and professional institution through international cooperation, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.

Additionally, Inspector General Coleman said the MoU is intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation in law enforcement. “I extend my sincere appreciation to the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) for their invaluable support and aid in coordinating this important step forward. Together, through partnerships and shared knowledge, we are building a stronger, more professional Liberia National Police to better serve and protect our people,” Coleman wrote on his Facebook Page.
