The Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP) says absolutely no one can disrupt the peace that the country currently enjoys.

Speaking on Sunday, May 19, 2024 on Spoon Talk, Gregory O.W. Coleman maintained that one gun cannot overthrow a government assuring that Liberia is safe and the police is in charge of everything with support from the Joint Security.

“Nobody has any capacity to disrupt the state; and we will exercise our duty that has been given to us,” he sounded a stern warning to would-be troublemakers.

Coleman’s statement was in response to intelligence he gathered that some sanctioned officials are bent on having secret meetings with sinister motives.

Inspector General Coleman told panelists on the Talk Show that some measures have been put in place to protect the sources of the information.

“We will be making an official request through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the United States Government to assist them,” Coleman said. .According to him, some of those who were sanctioned are serving the state in different capacities as far as the government is aware, and there is nothing for Liberians to fear.

Additionally, he said if the War and Economic Crimes Court is established, LNP will play its part to the best of their ability by conducting investigations and provide every other security role needed.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police has applauded the leadership of the Motorcycle and Tricycle Union for being supportive in keeping the peace based on what they have agreed upon.

According to him, the Motorcycle Union has been engaging its members by talking to them. Coleman also expressed appreciation to all police officers who have been committed to ensure the enforcement of this exercise; “Imagine being posted as early as 4:00 AM and leaving during the late night hours.”
