Orange Liberia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday, December 11, 2025, for the company to serve as the official sponsor of the 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet. Giving an overview, the Legal Director, Cllr Supu Cole, said there has been an existing partnership between Orange Liberia and the Ministry, adding that both institutions have a mutual and peaceful respect in conducting county meets, and as the tournament kicks off on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Ministry should always consider Orange Liberia as a partner.
For his part, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister for Administration, Henry Yonton, said Orange Liberia has been supporting the National County Meet for several years now and trusts that Orange will fulfill its part of the MOU. Yonton said Orange Liberia is not only involved in sports but has several programs that have been transforming the lives of young people in Liberia.
In remarks, Orange Communications Manager Mabel Mason said County Meet is a national tradition that unites counties, celebrates talents, and strengthens community pride across Liberia. “This year, Orange Liberia is once again demonstrating its unwavering commitment to youth development and national progress through a sponsorship package valued at over US$91,000 cash and in kind,” she said.
She said the investment reflects not only the company’s belief in the power of sports to transform lives but also a dedication to ensuring that every young Liberian has the opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage. According to her, the signing ceremony is not just a formality; rather, it is a reaffirmation of Orange Liberia’s role as a proud partner that resonates with culture and national interest.
