In addition to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s suspension of several government officials over failure to declare their assets, the Civil Service Agency (CSAS) has gone further to block over 200 names in accordance with the “one month no salary” mandate attached to the suspension.

Speaking Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing, the CSA Director General Josiah F. Joekai said their role is to enforce the President’s mandate, and as a result of their actions, the government will save over US$100, 000 for the month of February.

Director General Joekai said the amount will be moved into an extra account, and a full report will be done and presented to the president who will make a decision on what the government will do with the money.

He said after declaring their assets with the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, the officials will have to obtain clearances from the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, to be presented to the CSA before they are restored on the payroll.
