“Never-Stop-Learning”-Senator-Urges-Scholarship-Beneficiaries

Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe E. Pennue has urged three scholarship beneficiaries from the county to take education seriously and not quit learning. Senator Pennue made that statement on Tuesday, December 18, 2025, when the three students formally presented their certificates and awards to him as a show of appreciation.

The three students include Copeland G. Danae of Bishop Juwle High School, Ezekiel Dennis, and Blessing Akoi of M. Mixon Garlo Lutheran School, who credited Senator Pennue’s timely intervention in funding extra classes as a pivotal factor in their success.

The students were recently certified and awarded by the Ministry of Education for being among several students who performed exceptionally during the just-ended West African Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (WASSEC). The Grand Gedeh County Senator emphasized the importance of appreciating individuals who contribute to their growth and development.

Senator Pennue also reaffirmed his commitment to the students and the people of Grand Gedeh County, stating that the students’ appreciation further motivated him to intensify his advocacy and support for education for the county.

He reiterated his belief that investing in education remains a cornerstone of empowering young people and fostering the development of Grand Gedeh County. “I am excited today, because gratitude is a virtue that inspires continued service.”

The Senator encouraged them to remain focused on their academic pursuits, warning them against behaviors that could hinder their progress.  He specifically cautioned against disrespecting leaders and school administrators, as well as engaging in non-academic activities that could derail their studies.

In separate remarks, they explained that the additional tuition was specifically designed to prepare them for regional examinations, an investment they believe significantly boosted their performance.  According to them, the preparation, coupled with the support from Senator Pennue, ultimately placed them among the top-performing students in the county, making them eligible for the highly competitive government scholarship program.
