In continuation of its public engagement on the ongoing Boundary Delimitation Review Process, the National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC-Liberia), in partnership with the UNDP Liberia Electoral Support Project, is today hosting a day-long advocacy strategy session with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the media at the European Union Embassy in Monrovia.
The session, organized by NEC’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Section, is highlighting key challenges and reviewing the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in the Boundary Delimitation Review Process. Delivering opening remarks on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, NEC Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah, described the voices of CSOs as critical to the boundary delimitation process and welcomed their constructive engagement and input.
She reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that the review process proceeds in a transparent, inclusive, and lawful manner.
Also speaking at the session, UNDP-Liberia Electoral Support Project Program Officer, Mr. Roosevelt Zayzay, emphasized that boundary delimitation is conflict-sensitive and, therefore, requires careful handling and broad stakeholder collaboration. The Boundary Delimitation Review Process is expected to be concluded ahead of the 2029 General Elections in Liberia. It is implemented by the NEC under the UNDP-Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP) with support from the European Union in Liberia, Irish Aid and Sweden in partnership with NEC-Liberia.
