The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has approved a series of educational visits and refresher training sessions at its White Plains Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
These training and educational visits by students are part of continuous efforts to promote water, technical education, and sectoral collaboration. Recently, the initiative welcomed students from several academic institutions, including the University of Liberia (UL), Stella Maris University, African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), and Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) University, among others. These visits are also part of LWSC’s commitment to foster learning opportunities around Liberia’s water infrastructure and management systems.
During the recent refresher training for university students, a strong emphasis was placed on water quality monitoring, treatment processes, and system operations.
Sessions were held for several high school students, who were introduced to the infrastructure’s historical background and the critical role of the White Plains Facility in supplying safe drinking water to Monrovia and its surroundings.
The initiative does not only bridge the gap between theory and practice but also inspires the next generation of engineers, scientists, and environmental advocates.
LWSC remains committed to strengthening partnerships with academic institutions and creating platforms that promote knowledge sharing and technical growth in Liberia’s water sector.
