The newly appointed interim leadership team of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitzgerald T. M. Biago, has officially reinstated Agent Valee B. Kromah to the position of U-711 Chief of Manpower. Access to a press release dated September 4, 2025, Agent Kromah previously served in this role under the leadership of former Directors Marcus Zehyoue and Abraham Kromah.
Furthermore, his appointment was reaffirmed in 2024 by Director Abraham Kromah However, during the tenure of the recently dismissed Director Anthony Souh, Agent Kromah was removed from this post without being formally relieved of his duties and replaced by Agent Aaron Karzon, a decision that created internal controversy and confusion within the agency.
Upon assuming office, the current interim team, led by Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Biago, initiated a review of the matter. The release states that findings confirmed Agent Kromah was never officially dismissed from his role, as a result, the interim leadership has reinstated him as the legitimate U-711 and directed Agent Aaron Karzon to step down from the position immediately.
This decision aligns with the new LDEA leadership’s broader mandate to reform the agency and address administrative lapses. The current team has pledged to continue making institutional decisions aimed at restoring professionalism and integrity within the LDEA.
The LDEA has called on the public to take serious note of these changes adding that all organizations are warned against conducting any official business with Agent Aaron Karzon in the name of U-711, as he is no longer authorized to act in that capacity. These changes reflect the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
