LCC Pays Tribute to Catholic Church…For the Death of Pope Francis

The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) has paid tribute to the Catholic Church of Liberia, the Christian Community of Liberia and the Roman Catholic Church Worldwide for the death of Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church, who died a fortnight ago.

In its tribute, the LCC expressed its heartfelt condolences to Archbishop Gabriel B. Jubwe, head of the Catholic Church of Liberia and all Catholics for the loss of Pope Francis under whose leadership the Catholic Church worldwide experience a new form transformation.

Pope Francis, the LCC said, was a Pope for all and lauded his leadership stands on advocating for the poor and the marginalized.

According to the LCC, Pope Francis, as Pope of the Catholic Church, focused more explicitly on Social Justice, Climate Change and addressed himself to the most marginalized in Society.

The LCC, in its tribute, described the late Pope as a humble leader who brought simplicity to the highest office of the Catholic Church and urged Christians to follow his example by demonstrating a high level of humility in their various Ministries.

During his Papacy, the LCC recounted Pope Francis’ stance on the trickle-down economies of the world that had a great negative impact on the poor and urged World leaders to create a safe environment for the poor, void of extreme poverty. Pope Francis died on Monday, a day after celebrating Easter Sunday at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.
