The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has taken the Asset Declaration exercise to local government officials in the counties. On Friday, February 21, 2025, the team was in Saniquellie, Nimba County. The Commission’s Executive Director, Mr. James Kingsley and the Asset Declaration and Verification Officer, Patricia Barnaby headed the team.
Nimba County Superintendent, Kou Meapeh Gono thanked the LACC under the leadership of Cllr. Alexandra K. Zoe for reaching out to local government officials in Nimba County in order to assist them declare their assets. “Some of these local government officials did not know that they were supposed to declare. Some of them did not even know the process of obtaining and filling the form. Thanks to the team for coming and teaching them.”
She also said that through this exercise the LACC has proven to be a true compliance entity, helping to strengthen the rule of law, which is a pillar of the President’s ARREST Agenda. She assured the team that all Nimba county local government officials that received the form will fill it and will return it in the soonest possible time.
This outreach exercise is part of LACC’s way of helping local government officials in the counties that have not declared to understand the declaration process and comply with the exercise.
