Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, is appealing for equal service for all Liberians and for legislators to serve impartially. Speaking Sunday, August 25, 2025, at the dedication ceremony of a project led by Nimba County District #8 Representative Hon. Saye S. Mianah, Vice President Koung emphasized that elected officials’ responsibilities start on Election Day, advocating for service to every town and village in their districts.
He commended the lawmaker for the project and urged others to disregard political affiliations and treat all citizens equally. “I urge you to treat all citizens of your region equally because when you win an election, you become a leader for everyone,” VP Koung stated. Also speaking, House Speaker Richard N. Koon praised the people of Nimba District #8 for electing Saye S. Mianah as their representative, emphasizing that choosing competent leaders leads to positive outcomes.
“If we elect good people in this country, Liberia will develop faster,” the Speaker said. For his part, Representative Mianah narrated that the project is in fulfillment of campaign promises, while announcing a ten-bedroom guest house project in Burtain Town, Nimba District #8. He disclosed that the poor state of the Wollah Bridge had been a serious constraint, resulting in the loss of several lives in his district.
“I will always stand with my people and ensure development reaches all parts of District #8,” he said. The projects in Burtain Town include roads, a bridge, and the Burtain Peace Hall in District #8 of Nimba County.
