Koffa-Losing-Relevance…Additional-Supporters-Join-Majority-Bloc

Embattled House of Representatives Speaker J. Fonati Koffa could be fast losing relevance in his quest to maintain the speakership position with at least four members of his Minority Bloc apparently crossing over to the Majority Bloc which had him ousted from his position.

On Monday, January 6, 2024, during the session of the Majority Bloc, Sinoe County Representative Romeo Quioh, Margibi County Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh, Montserrado County Representatives Sumo Mulbah and Priscilla Cooper joined the Majority Bloc under the leadership of controversial Majority Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon.

Koon welcomed the four lawmakers in making sure that the Liberian people’s work is done and called on other lawmakers to follow suit and join hands in fostering unity and progress within the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, the  House of Representatives through the Majority Bloc has adjourned the 3rd quarter of the 55th sitting with statistics from January 15, 2024 to January 6, 2024 showing    the passage of ten bills, two from the Senate concord with,  and 16 bills from the Executive passed along with two resolutions.

Meanwhile, about 33 bills are still in committee rooms for proper action including 23 from the House, two from the Senate, six from the Executive and two Petitions.
