An Indian businessman, Manoj Kumar Vatwani says he will bring more investments to Liberia. Vatwani, who was allegedly prevented from coming to Liberia by the George Weah administration government for charges brought against him said, “I have been in Liberia for more than twenty years, there are many more things which I feel supposed to come to Liberia which have not come. So many development plans and projects that should be here and is not here.”

According to him, while he was away for the past four years, he visited so many African countries and the developments that he saw are not in Liberia.

The Indian businessman stated that during his stay in Liberia, he will work along with his Indian partners to ensure that companies build hospitals and schools built in other African countries by the Indian government.

“I went to Freetown, I saw one of the Indian big companies with a very big hospital and school for the people of Sierra Leone. We know the quality of education and medicine, and I believe despite my knowledge, that kind of school, hospital and company especially build by Indian people are not in Liberia and it must be built here,” he revealed.

Businessman Vatwani stated that if Indians have live in Liberia for more than 45 or 50 years, why has the Indian community not signed up to help Liberia and Liberians at large.

Vatwani explained that if he has the opportunity to meet and discuss with President Joseph N. Boakai, he will recommend that policies, system and some other important things are put in place that will attract investors to come to Liberia.

“Seeing myself back in Liberia after 45 months is like I’m born again, because over the last 45 months, it seems like I was in a different universe. Now I feel so happy coming back to Liberia,” he explained.
