IMF Team On Advisory Visit To Liberia

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team, led by Mr. Daehaeng Kim, the Mission Chief for Liberia, is in Monrovia from February 26 to March 4, 2025, for a weeklong advisory visit.

According to a release from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, the mission aims to provide guidance and support on various key economic and financial issues.

Key topics for discussion include Article 4- consultations and the potential reduction of foreign aid. Article 4 of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement allows the organization to evaluate the economic policies and performance of its member countries.

This consultation process ensures that national policies align with global economic stability and growth. This visit represents an important step in shaping Liberia’s economic trajectory and securing its long-term financial stability.
