The Ministry of Health has conducted a 3-day refresher training for professional health workers ahead of the official launch of the National Fistula Campaign, scheduled for November 25–29, 2025, at the Phebe Hospital in Bong County. According to a release dated November 23, 2025, with support from ECOWAS and UNFPA, the Ministry of Health is launching this nationwide campaign to provide free surgical treatment for women suffering from obstetric fistula.

Across Liberia, many women suffer from obstetric fistula, an injury caused by prolonged or obstructed childbirth that results in continuous leakage of urine or stool. This condition is treatable, and through this campaign, assistance is now more accessible. The Ministry of Health remains committed to strengthening maternal health services, improving access to quality care, and ensuring that women and girls across Liberia receive the support they need to live healthy, dignified lives.
