The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has launched the second phase of the Home Village Watch and Protect Project.

Speaking on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel O. Sando said this initiative is designed to address urgent child protection issues in vulnerable communities across the country.

“We are talking about real action— documenting the conditions of affected children, providing psychosocial support, engaging communities, and most importantly, enrolling children into the school system free of charge,” he said.

Deputy Minister Sando noted these efforts aim to reduce the burden on struggling parents and caregivers and to safeguard the future of Liberia’s children.

He said as a government, they will ensure that no child is left behind irrespective of their background or the challenges they face. He stated that the Ministry of Gender is also committed to sustained monitoring and long-term protection to guarantee that every child has a safe and supportive environment to grow.

Sando said Liberia is moving forward, deliberately, responsibly, and boldly. “Whether through private sector empowerment or community-based protection of children, this government is committed to delivering real results that improve the lives of our people,” he told journalists.

Sando thanked governmental partners, civil servants, and citizens in general, who continue to play a role in building the nation
