Government Hits Back At Nagbe…Terms His Statement As ‘‘Irresponsible and Reckless’’

Mr.-Eugene--Lenn--Nagbe

The Government of Liberia (GoL), through the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), has hit back at Eugene Lenn  Nagbe,  the Chief of Staff of former President George Manneh  Weah, on accusation that the Unity Party (UP)- led government is practicing bad governance and using the vision of the  Congress for Democratic Change (CDC).

Addressing the Ministry of Information regular press briefing on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Deputy Minister for Public Affairs Daniel O. Sando said the COS of former President Weah was under the influence of strong substance to carelessly accuse the government.

Deputy Minister Sando said the past government of the former president was given the opportunity to lead the people of Liberia but rather chose to enrich themselves.

“We get problems when people that have the opportunity to serve the government but failed to address some of the problems that are putting the county backward,” Deputy Minister Sando said. Commenting on the issue of stealing CDC’s vision, Sando said the CDC government had no vision the country but to steal.

According to him, the only vision the past government had was failed promises as a result of real vision, but the former minister was making reckless and irresponsible statements against the government.

“Today,  you get a government that is committed and focusing on the developmental needs of their people and addressing those needs step by step and what this government has done in the past thirteen or fourteen months in power is sufficient indication that this government is on the right path,” Minister Sando  added.
