The Women’s Legislative Caucus (WLC) of the 55th Legislature has launched a Strategic Working Plan for 2024-2028.
Speaking during the launch on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Deputy House Speaker Thomas P. Fallah highlighted the increasing prominence of female legislators in leadership roles and key committees within the House of Representatives, emphasizing the importance of women’s representation in decision-making positions.

The Women’s Legislative Caucus was established in 2006 by women legislators of the 52nd Legislature of the Liberian Senate and the House of Representatives with the purpose of defining and promoting a common agenda of gender equality, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, ethnic background, or other differences.

The Caucus seeks to take common positions on critical national issues affecting women and girls to speak with oneness on such issues. It was also established to build a united front for women’s political participation and leadership.

In keeping with the spirit, the members agree to collaborate according to the following values and principles.
The strategic plan is built around three key programmatic pillars and one operational pillar which will function in support of the three strategic objectives.

Those objectives are: Promote women’s legislative agenda, strengthen gender responsive budgeting and governance, promote women’s equal participation and representation, and enhance institutionalization and financial sustainability.
