On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Holy Martyrs Parish celebrated a joyous occasion as Rev. Father Bonifaci Florkiah was officially installed as the new Parish Priest by Archbishop Dr. Gabriel Blamo Jubwe. He succeeds Rev. Father Patrick M. Kabba in this vital role.

The installation of a new pastor is a significant event, during which the bishop formally introduces the new priest to the congregation. This process includes prayers, the recitation of an oath, and the signing of a document, marking the start of the new pastor’s leadership in the Church.

During the ceremony, Rev. Father Bonifaci took the Oath of Fidelity before the Archbishop and the congregation. He affirmed his commitment to uphold all teachings proposed by the Church regarding faith and morals. He expressed his unwavering belief in all that is contained in God’s word, whether written or passed down through tradition, as divinely revealed and deserving of faith.

Father Bonifaci also vowed to submit in will and intellect to the teachings of the Roman Pontiff and the College of Bishops when they exercise their authentic magisterium, even in statements that are not definitively proclaimed.

In his address to Father Bonifaci, the Archbishop advised him to always seek legal counsel from the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) before making any decisions or taking any actions. Additionally, the Archbishop confirmed several candidates during the sacrament of Confirmation, which completes the grace of baptism and makes the confirmed individuals “soldiers of Christ.”

During the Mass celebration, two members of Holy Martyrs Parish, Cllr. Andrew Nimely II and Cllr. Joseph Sammy, were inducted into the Association of Catholic Lawyers. The Archbishop emphasized the importance of upholding justice and truth within the legal profession. This visit by the Archbishop to Holy Martyrs Parish was part of his pastoral tour within the Archdiocese of Monrovia.
