Phase one of the Electoral Reform Consultation ended on Friday, 14 November 2025, in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County. The session brought together civil society actors, media, religious community, Liberia National Police, and local citizens to provide vital input on which electoral laws should be revised or removed as the National Election (NEC) prepares its proposed amendments.
Leading the consultation process in the Southeast are NEC’s Head of Legal Section, Cllr. A. Teage Jalloh, Deputy Executive Director for Programs, Ignatius B. Wisseh, and UNDP Liberia Program Officer, Mr. Roosevelt Zayzay. The final phase of the consultation kicks off on Monday, 17 November 2025, in Voinjama, Lofa County, with sessions scheduled for Bong, Nimba, Gbarpolu, Bomi, and Grand Cape Mount Counties. Upon completion of the nationwide exercise, NEC will submit the proposed amendments to the Legislature for consideration.
