Acting Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Anthony G. Myers has disclosed that Liberia’s economy will grow by 5.1% this year. He said the achievement of this growth projection will be driven by mining, agriculture, fisheries and services.
Speaking Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism special press briefing, Acting Minister Myers revealed that data collected and analyzed states clearly that government is on track to achieve this target and various sectors are doing relatively well.
According to him, they also expect 5.8% in the next fiscal year which will be driven by mining, services and infrastructure.
Myers said prices have remained stable and it is projected that inflation will be at around 7:% at the end of the year and several monitoring measures are been enforced to keep the exchange rate under control. “Our goal is that by 2025, inflation should be not more than 5%, and revenue collection has been largely on track,” he said.
