The Economic Management Team of the Boakai Administration has held its first meeting to discuss key issues affecting the economy.
The meeting held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning was aimed at finding the appropriate remedy to pressing economic matters.
Among the issues discussed were policies on commodities exports, domestic prices as well as issues about boosting domestic revenue generation.
Discussion also focused on financing of the government’s development agenda dubbed “ARREST”, an acronym for Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism.
The participants at the meeting emphasized greater collaboration with sectors heads especially in making policy recommendations to the President.
Institutions represented at the meeting include the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Liberia Revenue Authority, Central Bank of Liberia, Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services, Liberia Petroleum the National Port Authority, Economic Advisors to the President, among others.
