The Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) has explained an incident that occurred on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the red light commercial hub involving a city officer and a pregnant street vendor. According to initial reports, Officer Solomon Boakai was enforcing the city’s ordinances regarding vending restrictions in the designated commercial area.
During this operation, PCC disclosed that a confrontation arose between Officer Boakai and a female street seller who is pregnant. “The situation escalated into a tussle, causing notable distress to the lady involved. Following the incident, the pregnant lady was promptly taken to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK) for medical evaluation and care. As of now, she is reported to be in a stable condition and is receiving appropriate medical attention,” PCC explained.
The PCC authorities have immediately recalled Officer Solomon Boakai from active duty pending a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The Paynesville City Corporation stressed that the safety and well-being of all citizens remain their utmost priority; “We are committed to ensuring that all enforcement actions adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and human rights.”
However, many of the marketers gathered, expressing frustration over the actions of Officer Solomon, commonly known as Red Man, who is assigned to the Red Light Market. One of the female market women claimed that this is his regular habit of attacking pregnant women. Eyewitnesses also alleged that Officer Boakai used excessive force during the confrontation. The incident has sparked outrage and concern for the safety and well-being of street vendors in the area.
