Civil Servants ‘Disappointed’

Civil-Servants-Disappointed

In just six months into his administration, the Civil Servants Association of Liberia (CSAL) has expressed disappointment in President Joseph N. Boakai for failure to increase their salaries in the 2024 National Budget.

CSAL’s President, Moibah Johnson told OK FM morning show that civil servants were in slum communities during the 2023 presidential election despite threats from the Weah administration for them not to campaign for the Unity Party.

Johnson said civil servants are being dismissed without any concrete reasons and that no information is coming from the Executive Mansion concerning issues affecting them.

“We have been calling Unity Party Chairman, Luther Tarpeh and Amos Tweh but they are not picking our calls. Our calls were important during the 2023 presidential election,” he said.

Johnson further said it was not Nimba County alone that voted for President Boakai but Civil Servants across the country play a key role in making him President.

He disclosed that the Boakai administration is not treating civil servants rightly adding, “We want increment in our salaries and benefits and that is why civil servants struggle to making Boakai President and not to be begging this government,” he frowned.

Johnson warned that civil servants are the ones who can bring people into leadership and at the same time remove them.

  1. Johnson should talk about the illegal removal of individuals from the payroll, for which the President himself hailed. The ARREST agenda has the rule of law as a pillar. There exists so many issues with the ghost names scenario mentioned in yesterday’s press briefing. It’s deceptive to say the least and the President of civil servants should be more concerned about that.
