Chinese Ambassador Yin Chengwu and Unity Party Chairman J. Luther Tarpeh, on August 5, 2025, advanced high-level talks centered on strategic party-to-party cooperation and sustainable economic growth. The high-level meeting marked a renewed commitment to strengthening party-to-party relations between the Unity Party and the Communist Party of China (CPC), with a focus on governance, mutual development, and people-centered diplomacy. Ambassador Yin stated that the Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to strengthen exchanges on governance experience with the UP to boost the growth of bilateral relations.

Chairman Tarpeh stated that the UP is willing to learn from the CPC’s useful experience and work to improve the well-being of its people.  He pledged the Unity Party’s commitment to adopting and adapting key governance strategies that have proven effective in the Chinese context, particularly those aligned with poverty reduction, infrastructural development, and youth empowerment.

“The Unity Party is committed to learning from the CPC’s useful experience, especially in areas that promote economic self-sufficiency and national development. We believe in building meaningful partnerships that uplift our people and enhance our governance structures,” Tarpeh stated.
