A non-for- profit charity organization, Women of Grace, has alarmed over the poor living condition of citizens in rural Bong County.
Due to that, Felecia Garlo, Executive Director of the organization called on the government to give urgent attention to citizens in the county.
Madam Garlo who has been providing sponsorship to over three hundred children in Gbolota town, Bong County over the years, wants national government to prioritize the needs of rural dwellers across Liberia.
Speaking to reporters recently in Bong County, she said assistance to the people especially the vulnerable children, is triggered by the devastating impact of the Ebola virus that killed over 50 persons in the area.
During her visit to the people of Gbolota town, Madam Garlo said her sponsorship to the people is a great help, but lamented that more should to be done for the kids whose parents lost their lives during the Ebola epidemic.
Making remarks on behalf of the school, the Principal of the institution, Theodore Paye thanked the Women of Grace organization for its support to the only elementary school in the area.
He named the payment of teachers, provision of teachers’ salaries, teaching materials as well as support to the school going kids and residents of the town.
Principal Paye called on other organizations and the Liberian government to provide more medical and educational support to the children whose parents died during the Ebola.
For her part, the Town Chief of Gbolota town, Feta Kollie lauded the organization for rendering support to the town and its surrounding villages.
