Weeks after he was ordained as the Archbishop of Monrovia, Most Rev. Gabriel Blamo Jubwe has made his first major appointments.
In a letter dated May 17, 2024, Archbishop Jubwe appointed Most Rev. Father Ambrose D. Kroma as the new Vicar General and Moderator of the Curial of the Archdiocese of Monrovia, Very Rev. Father McDonald W. Nah as Vicar for Priests, Very Rev. Father Johnny C. Kombo as Priest Secretary to the Archbishop and Mrs. Alice Williams as Executive Administrative Assistant.
The letter also stated that as Vicar General, Father Kroma will assist the Archbishop in the governance of the Archdiocese in accordance with Canon 475&1.
“As moderator of the Curial, he (Father Kroma), under the authority of the bishop, is to coordinate those things which pertain to the treatment of administrative affairs and to ensure that the other members of the Curial properly fulfill the office entrusted to them in accordance with Canon 473&2,” the letter added.
As Vicar for Priests, Father Nah will serve as the archbishop’s principle liaison to the Priests in the Archdiocese of Monrovia.
Rev. Nah will also represent the Archbishop in the interest of his fellow priests in expressing concerns for their emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
Mrs. Williams is said to be the longest serving administrative assistant in the office of the archbishop.
The letter from the Archbishop’s office revealed that all appointments take immediate effect.
On May 4, 2024, Most Reverend Judwe was ordained as Archbishop of Monrovia after being appointed by the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
