President Joseph N. Boakai is expected to host the first diaspora Liberia Annual return conference aimed at encouraging active participation of Liberians living abroad.
Speaking Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Executive Mansion regular press briefing in Monrovia, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana said the conference will be first of its kind and plans are already in the making for said national gathering.
According to her, the annual gathering will also accompany the One Liberia Peace and Reconciliation Dialogue as well as the Heritage Awards scheduled for December of 2024.
Madam Fofana said President Boakai is committed to see diaspora Liberians play an active role in the governance process of the country.
She said the President is contemplating on having a diaspora office and has been having active engagements with the diaspora community.
Meanwhile, she said the president has described the contribution of the diaspora community as key for the forward march of the country and is working to ensure that all Liberians join the campaign to make the country better.
